This comprehensive work gathers tracks from up-and-coming New Zealand artists who have built a close relationship with the label since its inception.
 
Featuring a total of 14 artists, from familiar NZ names in Japan to brand-new talents. The compilation is curated by Julien Dyne, who has risen to become one of New Zealand's top producers, and Wonderful Noise itself.
 
Starting with this release, Sampler E.P. 1 features five artists, including Julien Dyne as one of the compilers, Mara TK from Electric Wire Hustle, who recently signed with Okayplayer and is set to make a full-scale U.S. debut this summer, promising young beatmaker Christoph El Truento, Pacific Heights with the lead track "Peace" from their first album featuring Joe Dukie from Fat Freddy’s Drop, and saxophonist Lucien Johnson, leader of the Afro band Shogun Orchestra, who toured Japan this year as a member of Lord Echo's live band.
 
The artwork, created by FJD (Jiro Fujita), represents the theme of "Conglomerates," the title of the compilation.

Following this Sampler E.P. 1, E.P. 2 and E.P. 3 are set to be released in succession.
