This 1969 work was the band's first album, a memorable one that was the realization of the passionate desire of teacher Conrad Johnson, who led the band! The students, who had already won brass band festivals all over Texas, performed in the recording studio, dancing and playing funky songs! The opening track "Boss City" (A1), the funk-style cover of "Take Five" (A3), and the famous SOUL track "Burning Spear" (A4) are instrumental jazz funk tracks that combine driving drums and thick brass sections in a rich way!
