KITCHEN. LABEL presents AGATE, the new album by MEITEI, deepening the world first shaped through the Kofū trilogy.
Named after the mineral formed through pressure and time, AGATE reflects a disciplined approach to sound. Across seven tracks, MEITEI revisits and reshapes key works from Kofū alongside a previously unreleased composition, refining material developed through years of touring. What emerges is not a reconstruction of the past, but Shinpu, where historical awareness becomes a foundation for contemporary creation.
If Kofū opened windows into forgotten eras, AGATE moves beneath the surface into layered memory. Grains become texture. Texture becomes atmosphere. Voices drift through dissolving sound while ancient instruments are reimagined in new forms. The artwork, developed through traditional woodblock print and calligraphy, echoes this solitude.
